Given my work as a facilitator, trainer, and coach, I spend a significant amount of time creating and holding space for others. And I love my work, including building relationships and connections, making a difference in people’s daily experiences, and ultimately in transforming workplace culture.

This past week, I have talked to a number of amazing managers and consultants who are working tirelessly to support their team members and clients, many of whom are voicing fears about the future, struggling to focus on their work, and trying to understand potential changes in their paths.

Leaders, facilitators, counselors, coaches, and any folks who support others: while your work may be energizing, fulfilling, and even life-affirming, this work can also be challenging and exhausting.

Please remember that we all need space, a listening ear, and a supportive network. We all benefit from time to digest, think, recalibrate, and plan. And we all need to seek and accept compassion and care from ourselves and others. Once we rest, refuel, and recharge, we can continue to do our important work!

Running on Empty; Time to Refuel
